Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep chain-of-thought reasoning.Director of FinanceAs we scale our company, we will face a handful of strategic and finance operational challenges. From deciding pricing, SKUs, and unit economics to accounting, financing strategies, and cash flow and supply chain management, we are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to tackle strategic financial challenges and execute on our day-to-day finance operations.You will work closely with the executive team to implement a finance plan and advise on key strategic issues across the organization, from supply chain to product. This is a high-trust role that hopefully translates into a long-term leadership role at the company.Representative projects:Create monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, Cash Flow, and HC modelsEstablishing an accounting, invoice, and spend management systemAnalyzing and recommending pricing strategies and payment plansAnalyzing unit economics and identifying opportunities for improvementModeling whether we should take a line-of-credit to finance customer ordersYou may be a good fit if you:Minimum of 3 years of FP&A experience in Corporate or Strategic FinanceDeeply understand cash flow management and can make bank reconciliation and bookkeepingTrack record of excellent project management and data analysis skillsHave experience with supply chain and financing for hardware productsAre willing to do a broad set of finance and operations work and oversee accountingWe encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.Strong candidates may also have experience with:Deep understanding of AI, hardware, and/or semiconductorsDeep understanding of the AI research field and broader marketDeep understanding of the unit economics of GPU and hyperscale cloudsHave led finance in a high-growth startupHow we’re different:Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson.
