Second Shift- Trade Support Operations Chicago, IL

As a Trade Support Specialist at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Information Technology at a successful trading firm. You will work side by side with other talented individuals as the first line of defense for the firm. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, clear communication, and has a strong interest in growing their technical skillset. This position will report directly into the manager of Trade Support who reports directly into the Chief Operating Officer.This position will require in person presence in our Chicago office located in River West right next to the Merchandise Mart and convenient to public transportation.This position will be second shift which is from 1.30-10pm central Sunday-Thursday. You will be required to work some holidays, due to when the exchanges open in other countries.What you’ll do:Provide first and second level support for all Gelber employeesProvide primary real-time monitoring and support for all trading software and secondary monitoring for technical infrastructureMonitor all Gelber proprietary applications and systemsCommunicating across the team as well as with all trading and internal desks, including technology, across the firmWhat you’ll need:Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field with 0-2 years of work experienceGeneral understanding of Windows and LinuxBasic SQL knowledgeUnderstanding of Python and Powershell are not required, but a huge plusStrong critical thinking skills and sense of urgency when it comes to supportAbility to lift or move items weighing up to 50lbsAbility to work second shift Sunday-Thursday from 1.30-10pm centralBenefits HighlightsGelber offers a wide range of benefits to full-time employees in order to meet you and your covered dependents needs.
