This will ensure a standard approach and focused vendor partnership with one Lilly voice. The scope of the team is to establish and execute centralized methodologies around key categories to enable effective coordination, risk mitigation, and decision making. This team will also be integrated into the supplier management and risk processes, to include ownership of an operational rhythm, supplier performance, and contract management.Associate Director – Global Materials Planning



Oral Dose Platform

is responsible for supporting the development of this new team, establishing the processes and governance associated with planning, and implementing consolidated forecasting, plan validation, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and contract compliance for a critical business platform/category. The role is required to enable supply availability and build relationships between the manufacturing sites and critical suppliers to ensure projects and materials are delivered on time and within manufacturing sites’ expectations.Strategic planning

Accountable for global materials framework deployment enabling sustainable supply across the network for Oral Dose product and packaging.Drive Oral Dose product and packaging materials specific execution of S&OP and Orchestrated planning that can account for critical and non-critical materials.Implement Oral Dose product and packaging materials specific strategic material planning initiatives aligned with overall organization goals.Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to optimize materials planning processes.Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, quality control, and other supply chain teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.Coordinate with quality team in the event of substantial quality holds for the inbound material i.e. handle risk sensing.Coordinate with technical services teams on ensuring new qualification strategies are feasible and aligned.Lead analysis of impacts of relevant supply chain risk and resiliency initiatives and provide scenarios for consideration.Supplier management

Define and execute an effective cross-functional governance and communication strategy targeting supplier operations and S&OP supply integration.Support Oral Dose product and packaging materials collaboration with vendors to manage and improve Oral Dose product and packaging materials specific supplier performance, raw material lead times for Oral Dose product and packaging materials, inventory strategies, and binding forecast for the raw materials.Align with Procurement on contract compliance requirements, capacity expectations, and ongoing monitoring.Key point of contact between sites & vendors to align a network level mid-term demand projection & supply response which meets both manufacturing & inventory requirements.Ensure adherence to terms and conditions throughout contract lifecycle.Drive continuous improvement

Leadership role in designing new capabilities and executing deployment strategies.Drive automation, system-based approach to ensure efficient processes, internally and externally.Provide input to central planning on opportunities for improvement and partner on execution of cross-platform initiatives.Implement continuous improvement program to minimize material waste in the production process thus improving overall manufacturing cost.Manage inventory levels to balance production requirements with working capital objectives.Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.Drive analytics & reporting

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of materials planning processes for Oral Dose packaging.Influence and drive improvement in key metrics/KPI’s to ensure effective management of vendors and materials.Analyze data and provide regular reports to management on materials planning performance specific to Oral Dose product and packaging.Identify potential risks in the Oral Dose product and packaging materials planning process and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.Collaborate with stakeholders to implement contingency plans for potential supply chain disruptions for Oral Dose product and packaging.Leadership:

Work cross-functionally with stakeholders from different functions to execute planning activities and drive seamless communication of actions and exceptions.Effective communication skills for conveying material planning information to various stakeholders.Have great collaborative skills for supporting relationships and ensure alignment among various functions.Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, or other relevant field.Minimum of 7 years of experience (10+ years preferred) in supply chain planning, manufacturing, or sourcing/procurement on a global scale, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.Minimum 5 years of experience in materials planning or supply chain optimization.Proven experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in materials planning software.Experience in raw material inventory management and supplier risk management.People leadership experience.Additional Skills/Preferences:

Master’s degree.Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.Manufacturing/supply planning and S&OP experience focused on multi-site supply optimization.Proven ability to strategically develop and implement cross-functional governance models.Experience in balancing operational projects and strategic initiatives with a demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members and deliver results.Proven analytical capabilities targeted at planning/inventory models and metrics.Proficient in SAP or equivalent.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships across all levels in the organization.Proficient at global supplier relationship/performance management and leadership of operational interfaces.Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty. Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize problems, develop, and implement solutions.Proven ability to define and drive inventory health and optimization strategies.Proficient in managing and influencing supplier contract terms to support performance compliance and strategic priorities.Strong written and oral communication skills and experienced presentation preparation and delivery skills.Proficient in Power BI or equivalent.Supply Chain Knowledge – APICS/ASCM certification preferred.Prior experience in supplier risk management program integration and optimization.Prior experience leading business process management and improvement, certification preferred.Prior experience leading a large change management scope, change management training or certification preferred.Additional Information:

This role is based at US, Indianapolis, Lilly Corporate Center (onsite).Travel up to 20%.
