A recognized healthcare organization in Maryland is currently seeking a new Medical Economics Specialist to join their team in a Remote capacity. Collaborating with a group of Healthcare Economics professionals, the Medical Economics Specialist will be responsible for supporting the organization's goal of providing executive leadership with actionable intelligence related to the financial, clinical, and analytical performance of various lines of business.
Responsibilities:
The Medical Economics Specialist will:Develop reporting and analyses to measure health plan trends and performancePartner with stakeholders to develop analyses aimed at identifying key performance driversWork closely with team members to ensure knowledge sharing of best technical and analytic practicesServe as a go-to for leaders and stakeholders throughout the organization to craft creative analytic approaches to practical business issuesLead development and production of cost, revenue, and utilization reporting, incorporating both internal and external benchmarksManage the needs of various stakeholders in projects, including designing communication processes, project timelines and formal presentationsSupports ad-hoc reporting and analysis for business units throughout the organizationPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
5+ years of related work experienceBachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Business Administration Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or a related fieldKnowledge of Healthcare Analytics, Financial, Statistical and Data Science conceptExtensive knowledge of the Healthcare industryExperience with analysis of Healthcare Claims dataExperience with Financial / Accounting and Statistical conceptsMicrosoft Excel proficientGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:
Master's Degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, and/or a related fieldWorking knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and/or PowerBIBackground in Managed Care / Health Plan claims
