The role will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the client development activities for clients in the Financial Services and Private Equity sectors.
Under the direction of the Senior Business Development Manager, Clients & Markets, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing processes and programs aimed at expanding client relationships and winning new work.
Responsibilities
Account management of selected global clients including development and delivery of strategic plans and client relationship management, including supporting the relationship partners and client teams.Act as a central contact and resource on selected relationships - providing guidance and client intelligence to various teams across the firm.Develop an understanding of the client's business and market position to identify opportunities for revenue and relationship growth.Conduct client feedback and work with the relationship team to act on the feedback.Work closely with colleagues to develop an understanding of the firm's capabilities to drive business development efforts.Support partners and lawyers ahead of client relationship meetings and key business development engagements.Secondee preparation and feedback, including regular contact with secondees at financial institutions and private equity clients.Collaborate with other teams on product development and marketing campaigns, and ensure they are appropriately tailored to individual clients.Coordinate efforts across professional services to support ongoing relationship development through value-add services (e.g., pro bono, DE&I, innovation, trainings, etc.).Support the roll out of best practice for relationship management across the client teams.Create client development tools and resources to be used by the client teams.Support the development and delivery of training to partners and lawyers on client relationship and opportunity management.Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience working in business development or client relationship management.The Business Development Manager, Clients & Markets, will be expected to have a track record of successfully managing client relations or business development in a law firm or professional services environment.Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to look at a document and spot conflicting pieces of information on the same topic.Effective time and project management skills: proven ability to organize and manage a diverse range of projects, prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines across different stakeholders.Proactive and takes a hands-on Self-starter, enthusiastic and motivated is essential.Fully able to work as part of a team and to liaise with/motivate partners and senior lawyers.Strong understanding of how to handle confidential and sensitiveKnowledge or prior experience of Foundation and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus, but not essential.Experience in developing best practice and implementing new processes is ideal.
*The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000
