We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.

About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineer , you will be diving deeper into the software lifecycle, taking on more complex tasks and leading smaller project initiatives. You will not only write code but also be involved in design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring Associate and Standard Engineers, helping to maintain the high standards of our organization.

Raft is building a real-time data platform for the DoD to better inform operators of events such as the Chinese balloon incident. As part of this data platform, we're collecting data from 750+ sensors in real-time, enriching them, making them queryable, and presenting a cohesive operating picture to the operators to be able to take decisions at speed of relevance. We collect about billion+ events each day at millisecond latency. Technologies we utilize are: Kafka, Kafka Streams, Pinot, Java, Scala, Kubernetes. In this role you'll be hands on working with a team of high achievers.

What we are looking for:

3 to 5 years of experience being hands on engineerJava or Scala or KotlinExperience with Kafka and Kafka StreamsExperience creating web-socket and RESTFul APIsWork well with-in the team and be able to make decisions that align to the teams north starsCurious about time series and geospatial dataBachelors in Computer Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics background

Highly preferred:

Hands on experience with time-series data in PostgreSQL or another SQL flavored database

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Work Type:

RemoteMay require up to 10% travel

Salary Range :

$110,000 - $200,000The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
