Remote!Position Summary
The Senior Estimator prepares cost estimates for projects in the planning, design, and construction phases. Produces bid proposals and prepares buy-outs.Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Prepares take-offs, estimates, and budgetsAttends pre-bid job walksSolicits and analyzes subcontractor/vendor pricing informationReviews project plans and specificationsReviews and incorporates historical data from prior estimates, purchase agreements and subcontracts to gain information for current bidsReviews contract documents and attends pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimatesReviews quotes, estimates, and bids with the Chief EstimatorCoordinates with estimators in preparation for bid dayEnsures that bid documentation is logged and filed after bid dayAssists in the purchasing processAssists with training, supervision, and development of other estimating staff.Required Skills and Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years of electrical construction estimating experienceKnowledge of estimating strategies and techniquesProficiency in planning, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and job costingUnderstanding of RFP and contract requirementsUnderstanding of all construction divisions and general construction knowledgeAbility to effectively supervise estimating staffAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skillsExperience using estimating software and proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteAbility to work cohesively in a team atmosphere.Preferred Skills
