As a Technology Development Engineer within CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T), you will apply your engineering or scientific expertise as an integral member of a team of innovative, technical-expert problem solvers, who deliver new solutions in support of CIA’s mission to collect foreign intelligence.
DS&T Technology Development Engineers collaborate across the Intelligence Community and with partners for in-house development-to-deployment programs delivering integrated solutions for the advancement of foreign intelligence collection.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
Electrical Engineering
Computer Engineering
Broad technical understanding of the electrical and/or computer engineering fields
Ability to learn new skills in pace with technological advances
Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic requirement environments
Interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Creative analytic and problem-solving abilities
Strong team and independent work ethic
Ability to describe and display hands-on design and fabrication experience
Advanced degree, professional certification, or comparable experience in one or more of the following disciplines is strongly desired:
Electrical engineering
Computer engineering
Knowledge or experience in the following functional disciplines:
Systems engineering
Prototype electronics design, fabrication, repair and testing
Soldering (reflow, hand-soldering, rework)
Radio Frequency design, modeling, and measurement
Microelectronics
Circuit schematic design, layout, testing, troubleshooting, review, capture, and analysis
Familiarity with the following engineering tools and software:
Logic and spectrum analyzers
Oscilloscopes
Altium Printed Circuit Board design, layout, or simulation
GITHUB
Embedded firmware
Microcontroller (Programming, MSP430, PIC, or ARM)
Python
Matlab
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
