With the abundant outdoor recreation and numerous schools and amenities in the area, take a chance to advance your career with Climax Molybdenum and live life at the top!DescriptionPerforms duties related to the operation of heavy equipment in support of production including de-watering, materials delivery, maintaining berms, and surface maintenance at a highly skilled level.Operates heavy equipment which may include but is not limited to: haul trucks, water trucks, rubber tire dozers, track dozers, excavators, motor graders and front-end loadersMay assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operatorsResponsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazardsResponsible for knowing the following procedures: start-up and shut-down, parking, mounting and dismounting,Lock-Out Tag-Out Try-Out (LOTOTO), emergency, fire, working with ground personnel, and Blue StakePerforms one or more of the following duties: finish grading, slope grading, road building, managing stockpiles, road surface maintenance, building and maintaining road berms, loading trucks, and trenchingResponsible for understanding equipment components and practices that reduce component damage and wearMay be asked to assist with project work that may include: establishing ramps, establishing pioneer work in non-active mining locations, establishing and maintaining reclamation tailings slopes, and establishing and maintaining reclamation stockpile slopesMay perform operations support activities such as barricading shovels and assisting with power cable movesCommunicates through computer dispatching system or two-way radioPerforms pre-shift inspection of equipmentMay perform minor maintenance activitiesPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum QualificationsTwo (2) years of mobile equipment operating experienceMust have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.PreferredHigh School diploma or GEDCriteria/ConditionsAbility to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsMust be able to work in a potentially stressful environmentThis is a Safety sensitive role Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and, as needed: respirator, rubber steel-toed boots, gloves, fall protection, protective clothing, goggles, face shield and other protective equipment as requiredEmployee may be required to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, fumes, and gassesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on uneven work surfaces and work on elevated platformsFrequently may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work dayMay be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operationFreeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/ alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by State lawsWhat We Offer YouThe estimated pay range for this role is currently$23.50 - $35.00/hour.
