This key role is a newly created position at SDF, responsible for overseeing and developing new multichannel fundraising strategies and initiatives to acquire, steward and retain new donors and diversify SDF’s annual revenue streams.The Senior Director, Integrated Fundraising is responsible for leading, developing and executing a comprehensive, innovative strategy to drive fundraising goals across one-time gifts, annual gifts and monthly giving to support SDF operations and impact. The Sr. Director will employ traditional and digital channels to create a strategic and coordinated donor journey.The ideal candidate is a sophisticated fundraiser, strategic thinker, skilled communicator, digital marketer and strong analyzer of data.This role reports to the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy on the Development & Stewardship team and collaborates closely with the Marketing & Communications team. This is a hybrid role with weekly onsite requirements at our San Diego Headquarter Office in Liberty Station.Essential Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-channel fundraising strategy to sustain and grow revenue.Direct the development, design, and implementation of the recurring gift fundraising program.Act as the lead digital fundraising liaison with Marketing & Communications, working closely with the Director of Digital Marketing to develop fundraising plans and goals for existing and emerging digital channels, including earned and paid email, web, display and social.Collaborate on digital fundraising strategy and develop, implement and optimize digital campaigns that promote donor acquisition and engagement in support of organization revenue goals.Analyze effectiveness of digital fundraising campaigns and presence and make recommendations for future campaigns.Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on writing and designing content as needed.Manage and grow lead generation, acquisition, retention and reactivation with internal and external partners.Collaborate with Development colleagues to engage and communicate with prospects and donors in a timely manner to deepen relationships and drive revenue. While this position does not have any direct reports, it will direct the activities of colleagues in ensuring timely outreach in response to donor activity.Develop and manage annual fundraising targets, budget and work plan; monitor and report progress and performance.Collaborate cross-functionally to support the development of new audiences and a diverse donor base.Ensure fundraising appeals are aligned with SDF priorities and brand requirements.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the AVP of Philanthropy.Minimum Qualifications:A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible multichannel fundraising roles, with proven expertise in donor acquisition and retention.Passion for the work and mission of San Diego Foundation to inspire enduring philanthropy and enable community solutions to improve the quality of life in our region.Significant experience leading digital and direct mail fundraising campaigns, including effective digital and omnichannel campaigns.Outstanding fundraising writer and content developer for email, mobile, website, digital ads and social media.Proven accomplishments designing, implementing and maintaining successful new fundraising campaigns.Capacity to effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to increase results.Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Demonstrate competency when managing multiple priorities.Highly collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with all levels of staff.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as strong relationship-building and customer service ability.Leadership capabilities to be a successful change agent in the community foundation environment.Demonstrated ability to translate the complex work of the Foundation into a compelling value proposition for philanthropic donors.Possess tact and diplomacy, a strong moral compass and work ethic, the ability to demonstrate integrity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion. Ability to manage sensitive personnel and organizational challenges with some guidance.Familiarity with CRM or database and marketing automation preferred.Previous work for social impact organizations preferred.Language Skills:Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.Work Environment & Physical Demands:Professional, hybrid work environment in San Diego.Fast-paced work with multi-level distractions.Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at meetings, desk, computer, driving.Ability to sit at a desk and view a computer screen for up to two hours.Ability to type using a computer keyboard.Ability to speak into and use a telephone.Background check required.All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
