The role of Director, Local Tactical Planning is to oversee local media tactical plan development and execution for assigned clients, leveraging experience, knowledge and skills to push fresh thinking to address client, agency, and team while steering the outputs and development of the team.Role ObjectivesDevelop strong client relationships as a key local strategic and business partnerGain a deep, holistic and evolving understanding of our client’s business objectives, challenges, threats and opportunities – including forward looking awareness of emerging competitive threatsDevelop a deep understanding of our clients’ customers’ wants, needs, and behaviors across the full customer journey (awareness > trial > continuation)Guide the tactical direction in relation to our clients’ omni-channel marketing approachOversee local media tactical plan development and budgetPresent recommendations to account service and clientsHave a strong understanding of budgets and media flow for assigned clientsEffectively liaise with internal stakeholders (Investment, Finance), Clients, and external partnersDevelop POVs for our clients around business-critical issues and trends in LocalAbility to lead the translation of insights into local strategies and tacticsLead internal brainstorms and client workshopsParticipate in new business pitchesAssist Associate Director in the development of junior team membersProvide job performance feedback to subordinates and make talent and staffing recommendations to managementResource for others in resolution of complex problems/issuesMay perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to timeAdvocate for multicultural & diversity inclusion throughout tactical plansQualifications

9+ years media planning experience including 5 years in a management capacity

Offline and Online media experienceMust have strong working knowledge of Local Media

Demonstrated expertise in local strategic and tactical planningFind satisfaction in problem solving and meeting commitments with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authorityExceptional written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentationExcellent management and motivational skillsExcellent organizational, interpersonal and quantitative/analytical skillsDetail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentComputer Skills/Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen, Kantar Software, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, MediaOcean, Google AnalyticsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
