We are a growing Emergency Medicine and Surgery practice, looking for a residency trained surgeon that has a love for soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Swansboro currently has a non-resident trained surgeon offering soft tissue and orthopedic services to the local area. Swansboro collaborates with a number of clinics in the surrounding counties and is the leading hospitals for surgery referrals. We are located on the beautiful coast of NC. We have been open for 5 years and continue to grow exponentially. We practice progressive, high-quality medicine. We have high resolution DR rads, ultrasound, endoscope, Ligasure, full in-house blood machines (including blood gas, blood typing, cortisol, bile acids, clotting times,) digital cytology, fecal/urine analyzers, oxygen kennels, extensive monitoring equipment, large surgery suite, large inventory of equipment and hardware for orthopedic surgery, central lines and a full pharmacy-whatever you want to stock to practice at your best, we can discuss! We have licensed technicians on staff who are vital to our daily operation, as well as numerous skilled assistants and receptionists. The dedicated staff work hard and truly care about saving pets. Finally, the beach! There's so much to do here if you love the outdoors; kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, hiking, trail walking, shark tooth searching, historical sites, and even more! Candidates must have completed a three-year residency in small animal surgery with a strong focus on orthopedics. Qualified applicants are expected to be highly motivated and able to participate in our team setting. The applicant must be committed to excellent patient management, client service, and clinical teaching.Additionally, applicants must possess the following:Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited universityCurrent DEA License or obtained upon hireActive Veterinary State LicenseAdditional Information

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS+ Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.+ Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)+ Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.+ Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.+ The noise level in the work environment is moderately high.
