We are currently looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer for Marketing Analytics/Customer Behavior to join the finance team working with the Japan Prime & Marketing (JPM) organization.

In this role, the Business Intelligence Engineer will drive development of reporting and uncover key insights on customer behavior and engagement in order to inform the marketing strategy for Amazon Japan. We use the latest data tools and advanced analytical techniques to understand customer flow and engagement behaviors and decide where, when and how we provide products and programs to our customers to meet their needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional who is passionate about influencing business strategy via analytics on marketing and customer behavior.

Our systems are built entirely in-house and on the cutting-edge in automated large scale analytics systems. You will have the opportunity to work on the forefront of consumer analytics tackling some of the most difficult problems in the industry with some of the best talents in the field.

Key job responsibilities· Translate complex and ambiguous problems into analysis and reporting requirements; drive insightful discussions and concise recommendations to influence business actions.· Collaborate with finance and marketing managers to deliver analytics solution (inclusive of reporting, ad-hoc deep dives and experiments) that will inform long term strategy for Customer Behavior and Engagement.· Help design rigorous experiments on the effectiveness and efficiency of different marketing actions.· Leverage internal data to increase the efficiency of our marketing spend working closely with marketing managers.· Own the design, development, automation, and maintenance of ongoing and ad-hoc metrics, reports, analysis, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.· Effective communication of metrics and analysis in the form of narratives that influence business direction.

A day in the lifeOne of the examples would be to deep dive into key input metrics and/or factors that explain financial output and/or increase in number of new customers.

About the teamIn this role, you will be part of Retail Finance team and partner closely with Prime & Marketing teams and teams that has large impact on customer engagement (e.g. Pricing, Selection).BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of professional or military experience- 5+ years of SQL experience- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results- Experience with AWS technologies- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data miningPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
