The Processing Subject Matter Expert's, for Traypack, primary responsibility is to travel and support the Perdue Performance Improvement Team to proactively implement performance improvements within the production and maintenance operations while ensuring timely and cost-efficient production/distribution of Company products. This position will identify areas of opportunity to improve production and quality standards in a safe manner and promotes and maintains positive working relationships with the production group.This position is remote but travel to facilities and HQ are required as needed.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Establishes standard processes and measures ensuring accurate reporting of production throughputs and yields for the assigned project location aligns with standards across the enterprise.Coordinates with engineering to understand Consumer Packaged Goods Equipment OEM capabilities and limitations developing best practices for current equipment and strategic plans for future improvement. Assist facility in meeting operational plans, to insure yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man hour, trays per man hour, line efficiency, Quality and Food Safety requirements are met.Builds a culture of sustainable improvement through the use of Manufacturing Operating Systems (MOS) included but not limited to: hour-by-hour tracking, TMAX capability, labor standards, standard work.Works by-with-and through local teams to achieve goals for assigned projects. Ensures processes are in place to continually provide training to improve supervisory skills of staff, and improve the skill set of the hourly production associates to maximize the results of individual and team efforts.Constantly develops new ideas and methods to improve operational performance and improve product quality and customer reliability.Supports and promotes the company’s annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective planning, communication, emphasizing the requirement for all team members to be efficient and effective in their respective responsibilities.Minimum Education and Experience
REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Agriculture or related discipline plus 10 or more years related work experience.The ideal candidate will have:5+ years of experience in Traypack.Ability to travel to other facilities and plants 50% of their time.Proven track record demonstrating ability to get results.Strong organizational skills for multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.Ability to develop protocols and processes and deploy.Excellent analysis and problem solving skills at both a strategic and functional level.Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills.Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. 5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
