The Diversify Analog Solutions (DAS) BU at Skyworks is investing to help our automotive customers make the vision of connected cars and software-defined vehicles into a reality. As a member of the applications engineering team at Skyworks, you will be working with a dream team of automotive professionals from sales, marketing, and development, supporting customers nationally and globally. We seek an automotive application engineer with an extensive technical background in low noise amplifiers (LNAs), power amplifiers (PAs), and RF switches for automotive connectivity and emerging 5G technologies.In this position, you will utilize your technical and people skills to support design activities with key automotive customers while building relationships. You will also leverage your system knowledge to support Skyworks’ products in customer and partner reference designs. We seek an initiative-taking self-starter who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a technical focus. You are also expected to provide technical support to the customers through pre-sales and post-sales customer engagement, including support for technical issues through all the stages of the customer’s product development cycle.Job Responsibilities
Verification and evaluation of Skyworks products for compliance to customer requirements as well as industry specifications.Provide customer support in troubleshooting and resolution of device implementation related challenges throughout the automotive product development cycle.Work with quality group to resolve customer quality issues including those related to automotive qualification, PPAP, and documentation.Support sales and marketing in new product introduction (may require domestic/international travel).Working with engineering/Marketing/PLMs as well as with customers to drive the resolution of customer issues both internally and externally.Provide training for Skyworks sales, sales representatives, and distributors.Application design support activities could include schematic design, PCB layout, troubleshooting.Datasheet and application note publication.Job Requirements
Knowledge of automotive architectures, processes, and production cycle stages.Proficient in the use of basic RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and similar tools.Must have strong written and verbal skills in English.Strong user of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).Familiarity with design simulation tools or equivalent.RF Circuit design knowledge and layout requirements.Preferred Job Requirements:Highly desirable to have experience with Connectivity, LTE, 5G, and other RF technologies.Must have worked on RF components such as low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, and RF switches as part of an overall system.Knowledge of RF PCB design, test and troubleshooting of RF circuits, and RF systems analysis.Strong theoretical background in RF systems.The job requires approximately 25% travel within and outside of the US.Desired Qualifications
Experience in Automotive system design and development processes, vehicle architectures, PPAP, IATF, AECQ, and preproduction stages.Knowledge/familiarity with automotive standards like CAN and LIN.Familiarity with Automotive supply chains including tier 1s, OEMs, and distribution.Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills for presenting to customers and in keeping a large, diverse, and distributed team current on issues, actions, and plans.
