MG+M has an immediate opening for a paralegal in our Chicago office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Point of contact for asbestos clients, national counsel and carriers for asbestos client(s)Maintain client contact information and product information for asbestos client(s)Cooperate with assigned partner, docket attorney and client attorney for asbestos client(s)Maintain and update reminders for project deadlines for asbestos client(s)Intake and complete New Complaint Intake Sheet of new complaints/petitions for asbestos client(s)Monitor deadlines for filing of responsive pleadings and pre-trial deadlines for asbestos clients(s)Review complaints/petitions, answers to discovery and deposition summaries for product identificationMaintain and update list of cases with product identificationCoordinate expert reporting with medical paralegal, asbestos client(s) and assigned docket/client attorneysMonitor scheduled depositions for asbestos client(s)Update case management program with deposition information and product identification informationPrepare and update Fact and Expert Witness Disclosures including letters adopting master listsPrepare and update Trial Exhibit Lists including letters adopting master listsPrepare and file Discovery responsesAdhere to asbestos client(s) reporting requirementsPre-trial preparationsPrepare for trials for asbestos client(s)Candidate Requirements :Minimum 1 year litigation experience (NYCAL asbestos litigation experience is a plus)Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal CertificateAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work in an organized and efficient mannerCapable of independent workExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to professionally communicate with a wide variety of individualsAct with a sense of urgency when neededAbility to multi-taskSelf-motivatedProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookWhy Should You Apply?MG+M The Law Firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k).
