Join SolarWinds and grow with us!Your RoleAs a Sr Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for working with our customers to understand their individual monitoring needs and build out innovative and differentiated solutions that will help these organizations to simplify the management of their environment. You will need to understand the capabilities of SolarWinds software, the needs of our customers, and facilitate a meeting of the two. You will work in a partnership with our sales team who will handle the commercial and legal requirements, while you focus on becoming a trusted advisor to our customers to earn their trust and deliver amazing results. To achieve results, you will need to be comfortable working with product specialist engineers, business unit resources, marketing and product.This position requires the ability to effectively perform detailed product demonstrations, during which you must effectively promote product solutions, answer audience questions and clearly ascertain the prospect’s needs and requirements. As a Sr Solutions Engineer, you must demonstrate expert knowledge of the several SolarWinds products in our portfolio.Your ImpactDemonstrate SolarWinds solutions to showcase features that make an IT professional’s job easier.Provide technical assistance to customers evaluating SolarWinds solutions to ensure their success criteria are met.Perform advanced troubleshooting of SolarWinds products.Provide best practices on product design and deployment architecture using Visio.Assists sales reps in offering products that solve business needs and technical challenges.Deliver technical training on new and updated products to sales staff.Communicates customer feedback on product feature/functionality and challenges to SolarWinds Product Management team.Respond to customer questions via email.Provide technical responses for RFI/RFQ/RFPs.Maintain accurate documentation of all customer interactions in CRM.Your Experience:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 5+ years experience in a related field (Network Engineer, Network Administrator, System Administrator or similar IT related job function.)Possess strong oral and written business communication skills.Prior experience in a pre-sales technical role with network or systems monitoring solution is preferred.Subject matter expert in at least one of the following areas: Security/Networking/Application/Virtualization/Database/Storage technologies.Must have excellent technical troubleshooting skills.Experience delivering technical training to sales staff is highly desirable.Extensive experience with TCP/IP based networks with a solid understanding of Network and Application management protocols including ICMP, SNMP, Syslog, WMI, RPC, DNS, DHCP and LDAP.PreferencesExperience in a pre-sales technical role with a hosted solution.Experience with cloud-based technologies, e.g. AWS and Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS is a plus.Experience with SNMP, WMI, JSON, Syslog, APIs.Experience working with programming languages like Perl, Python, Powershell, etc.SolarWinds is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
