Must have proven advanced technical capabilities in the aspects of datalink systems in flight simulation and detailed knowledge of software techniques used in the simulation industry.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Responsible for designing, implementing, testing, documenting and supporting datalink system software.Responsible for generating all the preliminary and detailed design documents as well as any user’s guides or acceptance test procedures.Responsible for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of technical writing skills.Expected to perform all phases of software implementation (code, off-line test, and documentation).Works under minimal supervisionResponsible for assisting and training lower-level Datalink Systems engineers.Expected to give presentations at customer and internal design reviews.Must be able to perform effectively as part of the project team.Responsible for all phases of customer and on-site acceptance of Avionics and Navigation systems.Qualifications and Education RequirementsB.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or MathematicsMinimum of 5 years’ experience in the simulation or software development industryComputer programming languages: C, C++ or ADATechnical areas of expertise should include knowledge of datalink systems operation in both the real world and the simulator environments.Must have technical capabilities and understanding of at least one of the following technologies: Civil Datalink, LINK-16, VORTEX, AFTRS, SADL, Hawklink, JetWave, or Blue Force Tracker.Must have extensive knowledge of software interfaces including MIL-STD 1553, Ethernet, Serial, and ARINC 429.Knowledge of software techniques and computer languages used in the simulation industry. Hardware/software integration skills.Related skills should include technical writing and presentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. All communications must be in English.Analytical and mathematical modeling ability.Technical areas of expertise must include current software development technologies and tools.Ability to read, analyze and interpret Interface Control Documents, Software Requirements Specifications, and Software Design Documents.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Preferred SkillsExperience with SAFe processes and JIRA.Experience with GIT Hub version control software.Security ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Moderate to high levels of stress, associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected with this position.
