What will you do?

At Krispy Kreme, we’re always focused on creating the most awesome doughnut experience imaginable. As a DFD (Delivered Fresh Daily) Lead Driver, you will be primarily responsible for the daily delivery of fresh Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on designated routes. This includes providing accurate and timely delivery of the product to customers, utilizing all available tools to reconcile delivery in compliance with specific retailer processes and merchandising product to maximize sales per established customer planograms. The Lead DFD Driver will be deployed in instances where additional DFD Driver support is required due to call outs, vacation requests, and staffing needs.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Covering all call outs, vacations, and staffing needs for DFD Drivers in assigned shops to cover route deliveries.

Driving the company truck with strict attention to safety and efficiency.

Delivering the correct products to the correct destination.

Delivering products on time.

Loading racks onto the truck.

Returning trays and/or racks to original destination.

Help train new and current DFD Drivers and support all training initiatives.

Help identify needs and qualifications of DFD Drivers.

Determine and communicate needs for product displays.

Assemble and deliver product displays as needed.

Perform routine fleet cleaning and maintenance where applicable.

Comply with all safety and sanitation standards.

Maintain good personal hygiene and a clean, neat uniform at all times.

Drive safely and abide by all appropriate traffic rules and regulations.

Maintain a clean vehicle at all times.

Utilize the Vehicle Inspection and Damage Report Form to perform routine maintenance checks as required.

Keep company vehicle clean and perform basic maintenance such as checking the vehicle oil level and cleaning fluid check/add.

Report any vehicle maintenance concerns to a supervisor.

Assist the Shop GM in the shuttling of trucks from the shop to the service provider.

Uphold an ethic of teamwork with fellow employees.

Maintain a sincere, courteous, and respectful demeanor with coworkers, team members, supervisors, and customers.

Work with management and team members to improve performance and implement new initiatives.

Use good judgment and avoid risk-taking while operating a company vehicle.

Assist Shop GM with the checking of product returns and the settling of territory accounting to ensure accuracy.

This role requires you to drive, sit, reach, bend, stand, carry, push, pull, grasp, and lift. You’ll be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments. You'll need to be able to lift a decent amount of weight, up to 75 pounds at times. We have hand-trucks and carts to push and pull products up and down ramps or lift gates, on sidewalks and through store aisles.

Qualifications:

A valid driver’s license is needed to get the job. Reading and writing proficiency are a must since you’ll be validating product orders, reading boxes and labels, and reading and comprehending road signs and vehicle dashboard/instrument panel cues. You'll need to be 21 years of age or older. It’s extra awesome if you have prior experience with route deliveries, customer service, handheld devices for inventory, and driving experience with a commercial vehicle.
