Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office 2-3 days a week at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Job Summary:

As part of our Back-Office Modernization team at Raymond James, the Sr Business Analyst will act as a partner with the Back-Office technology business groups and IT Partners to facilitate and implement technology solutions. This role will support multiple technical initiatives for multiple business groups primarily with Mutual Funds and Trade Confirmations, may extend into Tax Reporting and Cost Basis, when needed.

Responsible for writing business process and system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. This is a primary role that helps to collaborate between business and application developers on a complex system, handle data research and analysis request from business on issues and work with IT Partners to help drive and get them to successful conclusion.. Requires very good understanding of systems and their interactions, financial services industry and end-user requirements. Is able to make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities.Validates test cases to ensure that scripts will evaluate the business function being performed.Gathers and interprets information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.) and makes recommendations.Provides support for application development teams including documenting business processes.Translates technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.May take a lead role in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.Partners with team members to develop project schedules, reports and documentation. May be required to act as project lead on small to medium projects and/or provide direction to others on the team.Understands and applies principles in risk management, issue tracking and change management.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Advanced knowledge issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering.Solid understanding of SDLC and work through various phases of it with Peers and IT Partners.Knowledge in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid software development methodologies.Project planning and tracking.

Skill in:

Good steward of gathering and maintaining application documentations in Wiki environment.Experience with gathering business requirements from ground up is required.Experience with strong Data Analysis and ability to understand Data-models, Query database - SQL Server, Oracle is highly required.Experience in working with various stake holders of IT and Business Operations at senior level is required.Experience with analyzing data in a complicated multi-layered application in heterogeneous environment.Experience with supporting Finance and/or equity/mutual-fund trade and settlement related applications is preferred.Experience and background in working with SQL Server, .NET, Angular and Java based applications is preferred but not required.Experience and background in working with HP NonStop or COBOL is preferred but not required.Experience in working with vendor-based application software implementation and support is a plus.

Education/Previous Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or combination of education, training and experience.Financial Services experience is required.
