PsiQuantum is uniquely positioned to deliver on the promise of quantum computing years earlier than our competitors. Our architecture is based on photonics which gives us the ability to produce our components using existing high-volume semiconductor manufacturing processes, the same processes that are today producing billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics applications. Since photons don't feel heat, we can take advantage of existing cryogenic cooling systems, the kind that have been operating at facilities like the Stanford Linear Accelerator (SLAC). And because photons are in fact light, they can move between subsystems at tremendous speed using standard fiber connectivity.
Our team is building a utility scale quantum computer and the software tools needed to build fault tolerant quantum applications. We're a highly motivated and collaborative group focused on a singular goal - building the world's first useful quantum computer on the fastest path possible.

Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for developing the strategy for planning and procuring raw or semi-raw materials, machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of the organization while building strong supplier relationships. As a Buyer, you will be negotiating, strategic planning, reporting, analyzing, expediting, and sourcing.
Responsibilities:
Support purchase of goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quantity, quality, and delivery targets.Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve problems related to undelivered goods and RMAs.Assist in reviewing purchase requests for goods and services, preparing, and issuing purchase orders.Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, delivery, and production capabilities.Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.Prepare reports and updates as and when required.Work closely with others in the procurement function and ensure the continuous improvements of quality, service, and cost.Negotiate pricing, vendor agreements and contracts, terms, and review opportunities to cost savings and quality improvements utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.Solicit RFQ, RFP, and quotes for review / analysis process.Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.Ability to compile data and perform analysis relating to supplier performance and capabilities to enable evaluation and qualification in the supply chain process.Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, General Business, or similar field.5+ years' experience working in procurement, supply chain or related role in an R&D or high-tech environment.Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up environment preferred.Experience with ERP system, NetSuite preferred.Familiar with procurement tools and processes.
