We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced SHQ Associate Director with a good track record in delivering H&S consultancy/Principal Designer/CDM advisory across a broad range of projects and programme based out of our London offices in St Pauls.You will be responsible for delivering SHQ consultancy services to existing and new clients, contributing to the income generation activities of the business unit.The challenges of the role are to understand our various clients and ensure consistent delivery of SHQ services to meet their needs and expectations, alongside efficient commercial and people management.You will have a good track record in contributing to business development, be able to work on your own initiative and be comfortable working in, as well as leading teams.Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of a UK-wide team, this position will play a crucial role in our client's success, offering a dedicated and enthusiastic approach to delivering legally compliant H&S/Principal Designer/CDM services.The ideal candidate should be capable of:Providing competent advice, guidance, and support on various construction & design health and safety matters to colleagues and clients.Ensuring exemplary standards of the Principal Designer role on experience-capable sites, coordinating design team meetings, assisting clients in developing H&S arrangements/Project Briefs, and conducting workshops/seminars on client duties.Advising clients on CDM Regulations and relevant H&S requirements for construction projects.Conducting site inspections across various health and safety aspects, assessing performance, and identifying compliance actions.Auditing client supply chains to ensure compliance with Principal Contractor and/or Principal Designer duties.Auditing client management systems to ensure adherence to CDM 2015 and effective design and construction management processes.Ensuring line manager performance meets Turner & Townsend requirements.Developing and nurturing industry relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.Managing varied workloads and reporting requirements transparently.Utilising industry tools and supporting team colleagues and the wider community.Delivering health and safety training sessions to clients, project teams, and internal audiences.Conducting H&S audits of client and supply chain safety management systems, including evidence of successful implementation.Assisting in developing further H&S or CDM opportunities through technical articles, speaking engagements, and bid support.Potentially providing occasional support to other offices in the UK or Ireland, as well as participating in occasional international projects.Qualifications

Person SpecificationA degree or Masters in H&S, Environmental or Engineering environment.Holds or is working towards Chartered Member of the Institute of Safety & Health (CMIOSH) – Essential.Multi-sector construction experience – Essential.Full driving license – Essential.Relevant construction industry safety, quality or technical membership e.g APS, IOB, CQI etc – Highly desirable.Personal AttributesExcellent programme and project management skills.Exemplarily People Management Skills.Ability to work in partnership with clients (and/or stakeholders) in order to continually deliver high levels of satisfaction, provide effective solutions and resolve issues.Be able to work on own initiative.Be effective as a team player and being creative in establishing effective relationships.Have a strong commercial awareness and be able to identify and pursue business opportunities.Be a strong and professional communicator in both formal and informal environments, articulate in presentation and written communication, able to provide persuasive and well-reasoned responses to challenging questions.Take responsibility for providing the best possible service and contributing towards a culture of excellence, by assisting with the development of new systems, tools and processes, monitoring and evaluating progress, and applying lessons learnt.
