Greystones is seeking a Data Engineer for a program supporting the Army developing AI technology. Work to create independent solutions, assess system architecture, and identify areas for automation, optimization, and cost reduction. Leverage expertise in data engineering, databases, and Cloud technologies to set up and maintain Cloud environments, while collaborating with various teams to prototype and implement innovative solutions. Develop and deploy scalable, efficient coding solutions to address client challenges and advance technological innovations.
Hybrid schedule reporting to Falls Church, Alexandria, or Arlington 2-3 days a week.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Code and manage changes to the existing Common Data Model and add procurement data sources.
Work with data scientists and functional resources to build tables as required to support procurement data within the building of applications.
Support the configuration and ingestion of designated structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories into capabilities that satisfy mission partner requirements and support data analytics and a DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality to the client.
Maintain all operational aspects of data transfers while accounting for the security posture of the underlying infrastructure, systems, and applications.
Operate with general guidance to develop independent solutions, review system architecture, and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, right-sizing, and cost reduction to ensure a healthy environment.
Utilize knowledge of data engineering technologies and services, including databases and various data structuring methods, understand Cloud architectural concepts, and assist in the programmatic setup and maintenance of Cloud environments using vendor consoles.
Collaborate with multiple functional teams to understand client challenges, prototype new ideas and technologies, create innovative solutions, and design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy complete features and components.
Develop and apply scalable and efficient coding solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years’ Experience with AWS.
10+ years’ experience in Python, Spark, and SQL.
Knowledge in applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and automating that process.
Demonstrated ability to stand up and independently manage a portfolio of data pipelines.
