Come do your best work alongside other innovative, driven professionals in this meaningful role.Senior EngineerWhat you will doAmgen's Combination Product Operations Digital and Data Strategies group is a process development team that develops and deploys advanced computational technologies and empirical models towards improved process understanding and optimization of the manufacturing of combination products.We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Modeling and Simulation to support the team by developing and deploying rigorous computational models of drug delivery device technologies. The candidate will apply in-silico modeling theory to develop novel mechanistic computational models addressing a variety of problems associated with combination product design control, characterization, verification, and validation.Responsibilities:Identifying requirements and specifications suitable for in-silico evaluation of combination products.Applying finite element analysis (FEA) and engineering simulation principles to develop and manage in-silico models.Implementing in-silico models in commercial software and deploying these models to internal users.Demonstrating critical thinking skills to explore new opportunities in in-silico models and simulate real-world issues.Providing leadership and delivering work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.Product ownership, responsible for developing and managing backlog of in-silico product content.The Senior Engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders and document the technical basis of the models for the broader engineering and scientific community.What we expect of youThe professional we seek is a go-getter with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeMaster’s degree and 2 years of relevant structural simulation experienceBachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant structural simulation experienceAssociate’s degree and 8 years of relevant structural simulation experienceHigh school diploma / GED and 10 years of relevant structural simulation experiencePreferred Qualifications:Proficiency in mathematical and computational modeling, FEA for structural mechanics using commercial software.Skilled in programming in Python, and/or MATLAB.Experience with GitLab or other code/model repositories.Knowledge of Scrum and SAFe methodologies.Experience with combination products and device regulatory requirements.Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.Intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn new concepts rapidly.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.What you can expect of usAmgen offers a Total Rewards Plan comprising health and welfare plans for staff and eligible dependents, financial plans, and career development opportunities.Apply nowfor a career that defies imagination.careers.amgen.comApplication deadline: Amgen does not have an application deadline for this position; we will continue accepting applications until we select a candidate.Amgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
