Position Summary
As a DLR Group
Intermediate Design Technology Manager,
you will be responsible for working and learning in the dynamic design technology team to support DLR Group’s integrated design teams to produce award-winning work. You will report within your home office time zone-based support team to implement BIM and support Design Technology usage on projects across DLR Group's global portfolio. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.
Considering this model, this role could be based in the following cities:
Los Angeles, CAOmaha, NENew York, NYPortland, OR
You will oversee the successful implementation of BIM best practices on projects and other requested needs. You will monitor the progress of BIM/Design Technology workflows between project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors. The top priority of the Design Technology Manager is to ensure that our project teams are operating at maximum efficiency, as this relates to the utilization of Design Technologies.
The Successful Candidate Will
Perform periodic quality assurance reviews of Revit models and report back any performance issues and assist with resolutions to design teams.Assist in project planning meetings at setup and throughout the project to guide and support usage of Design Technology applications.Set up projects through our project startup portal.Provide feedback to Design Technology discipline leads to improve BIM best practices and efficiencies.Assist with setting up Navisworks for Clash Detection reviews for projects.Develop project-needed Revit content and implement standards changes into active Revit project files.Assist with the management of BIM 360 project sites.Assist with project level automation and customization of Design Technology usage.Learn/remain current on all Design Technology related software and add-ons in standard production use at DLR Group, and relay updates and trainings to team members.
Required Qualifications
5-7 years of Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) related Design Technology experienceProfessional Degree in related A/E/C field of studyExcellent verbal and non-verbal communication skillsMastery of Revit with a familiarity with Revit APIAbility to learn new software and troubleshoot issuesAbility to communicate clearly to project teams and technical staffAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesUnderstanding of the Architecture, Interior Design, and Engineering design processExperience with Dynamo, Grasshopper, or a programming languageMust be willing to work in a hybrid work environment; this role will not be 100% remoteMust be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
