The Opportunity:

Mattel’s Future Lab is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Associate Product Manager (APdM) to help shape the future of Mattel. The perfect candidate has some experience in digital product management, particularly with mobile apps, games, and consumer products, and is passionate about innovation, technology, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As an APdM, you will support product development, assist in managing projects, and help bring new products to market.

This role is part of Future Lab, an advanced-concepts team dedicated to creating innovative products that tap into new customer opportunities. You'll need strong analytical skills and a knack for creative problem-solving, as you’ll participate in every step of the process—from brainstorming and idea generation to product launch. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, designers, and other team members to generate new ideas, conduct research on emerging consumer behaviors, design and develop prototypes, and test and refine products.

What Your Impact Will Be:Support the strategy and vision for future digital products, with a primary focus on mobile and web-enabled experiences.Assist in identifying new product opportunities to expand Mattel’s business.Help manage product development timelines and collaborate with design, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.Contribute to driving revenue growth and customer engagement by assisting in monitoring product performance and optimizing features and functionality.Research market trends and the competitive landscape and support strategic recommendations for product enhancements or new areas of opportunity.Develop a strong understanding of consumer needs and preferences to inform product design and delivery.Participate in cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on product goals and support the adoption of new features and improvements.

What We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology.2 years of experience in Product Management or a related field.Demonstrated involvement in digital product development, from conception to launch, is a plus.Familiarity with launching and optimizing digital products.Basic understanding of product development processes, customer experience design, and product analytics.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks across teams in a dynamic environment.Experience working with customer-facing software products, preferably in connected-play (toy) products or games (apps, web, etc.).

Preferred Requirements:Knowledge of consumer electronics and experience in digital or web product development would be advantageous.A genuine passion for Mattel brands.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for engaging with team members and stakeholders.Familiarity with digital tools for product management and collaboration.
