We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As a step towards this vision, Blue Origin is building the next generation of Lunar Landers. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further our mission, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of systems engineers and designers, this role will lead spacecraft configuration control for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing the next era of crewed lunar lander architectures. This role is accountable for the development, management, and control of a vehicle configuration's master equipment list. The engineer will provide design-directive definition of an integrated system configuration where we strive to work closely with associated functional teams to control design integration of an end-item product. These functional teams will include, but not limited to, core platform system, communications, harnessing, electrical power system, environmental control and life support systems, fluids and propulsion, fuel cell, thermal control systems, crew systems, mission crew interfaces, and extravehicular and intra-vehicular activities. The engagement under this opportunity will span all program phases, from conceptual design, through development, production, deployment, and post-flight.As a team member within the Systems Engineering organization, you will be charged with the overall equipment identification and change tracking for the vehicle configuration. You will coordinate stakeholder requirements and develop the listing of all parts of the system that include pertinent information from functional schematics to piping and instrumentation diagrams. The master equipment list is a customer product, and this engineer has the responsibility to provide regular updates, product releases, data analytics, automation, and built-in reporting capabilities. They will also get involved with our configuration design and mass properties technical domains, aligning work products to program baseline artifacts.
