Want to help track and improve customer user experience? Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the ESE Observability team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing best practices and leading the Availability Monitoring Service Offering. You will collaborate with highly motivated and wonderful software engineers in multiple areas within Observability and other Engineering teams.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working in a team and can own and deliver long-term projects to completion. You are detail and quality-oriented and excited about the prospects of having a big impact within Observability at Autodesk.Responsibilities

Strong proficiency in working with, implementing, and maintaining observability toolsTake an active role in influencing the Observability team's roadmap while working alongside other team members to design and engineer observability and reliability solutionsYou will monitor and respond to incidents. Focus on proactive monitoring, leveraging monitoring data to detect anomalies, identify potential issues, and enable faster incident response. Ensuring system availability, reliability, and user satisfactionWork with the Engineering teams to plan and coordinate new observability requirementsInteract with engineering teams to identify and resolve service defectsAutomation/scripting skills (Selenium, JavaScript, Python)Maintain, troubleshoot, and debug codeTest Application Programming Interface (API)Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and proceduresCollaborate with the team to provide insights and suggestions into challenges/existing issuesMaintain operational work to ensure monitoring tools are in good healthEducate and lead efforts to improve observability among all engineering teamsParticipate/collaborate cross-functionally with vendors and other engineering teams to ensure smooth service deliveryProficient knowledge of Linux and Windows (AWS EC2)Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining observability toolsMinimum of 3 years with observability concepts and tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, BigPanda, and PagerDutyMinimum 3 years of direct Observability experience with CatchpointMinimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudTrailThis role can be hybrid, remote, or office based.Learn MoreAbout Autodesk

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,300 and $190,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
