Its employees consistently rank Moss as one of the best places to work.POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACTMoss' Assistant General Counsel supports and reports to the General Counsel in Construction Management supporting operations in the Texas and Mid-Florida markets. The Assistant General Counsel may be asked to also help support operations in Hawaii, South Florida, and across the enterprise as needed.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide legal advice in connection with managing and executing owner/developer agreements and related activities; includes legal advice to project execution teams related to contract risk management, customer claims, change orders, and dispute management support during execution of contracts.Support operations in Texas and Mid Florida markets.Provide legal and risk management advice as a part of the CM management team and, if requested, support senior leadership teams in both Texas and Mid Florida.Responsible for negotiating or assisting in negotiating prime contracts and Subcontractor Agreements; Vendor Agreements; Professional Services Agreements, Purchase Orders; etc.Provide counsel to management and project teams on matters of law and policy, direct outside counsel on projects, and monitor and advise management and project teams of legal developments and trends including changes in the law, administrative and judicial decisions.Provide training at various job sites to site associates as well as to project management team in risk management, negotiation skills and contract interpretation as necessary.Counsel management on labor and employment issues and oversee and participate in employee relations investigations.Identify and resolve legal issues quickly and practically while integrating legal, compliance and business objectives; function as trusted advisor to the business.Travel, as necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEJ.D.; admitted and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.A minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience within a construction-related environment, in private practice or as corporate counsel.Demonstrates good business judgment and decision-making ability; supports intelligent risk-taking.Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize competing tasks.Ability to identify problems, prioritize risks, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others, and develop solutions.Capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, and the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests.The ability to interact with others effectively within the corporate environment.Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.Ability to influence others and to gain support for his/her ideas.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Excellent negotiation skills.Strong commitment to integrity and professionalism, and passion for excellence.JOB TITLE:
