UC San Diego Health has held its Magnet status since 2011.The Organ Allocation Transplant Coordinator has the responsibility to take call for the transplant departments (heart, lung, liver, and kidney) at UC San Diego Center for Transplantation. The call responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing deceased donor organ offers when organs become available to transplant candidates, triaging patient calls, UNOS updates, UNOS listings, reporting adverse events and culture reporting, assisting with urgent transfers, delegating appropriately all aspects of call related duties to the Organ Allocation Specialist, and other duties that may be assigned by the Organ Allocation & Transplant Recovery Assistant Nurse Manager.The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator facilitates acceptance or refusal of donor organs for transplant and coordinates the organ recovery with the transplant surgeons, medical teams, Organ and Tissue Donation Team, Histocompatibility lab, UCSD hospital teams (OR, blood bank, admissions, bedside nurses, etc.) and communicates with patient recipients who will be receiving the organs. The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator must be able to spend the majority of their time independently executing complex logistical support pertaining to all aspects of organ recovery and placement. It is the Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator team's responsibility to provide 24/7 coverage on a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator is a remote non-exempt position that may require on-campus meetings and trainings.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.Minimum of two (2) years of recent (within the past two years) solid multi-organ transplant on-call experience at a multi-organ transplant center.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BSNCertified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification.Epic and Phoenix experience.SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.The shift for this position is on call 24/7 coverage on a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $81.65 - $81.65Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
