This position is for a full-time Controller, Corporate position to work at EAH Corporate in San Rafael, CA. This is a hybrid remote position. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, 6 - 8 years as a Controller or in a financial leadership or management role, and 5 years related experience in a non-profit affordable housing environment (HUD and Tax Credit accounting). At least 1 year supervising staff. Master's degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA preferred.Salary range: $125,000 - 220,000 per year;

hiring range for new employees is generally $125,000 - $172,500 per year, DOE . Please note an offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate and the current salary level of individuals working at EAH in a similar role.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under minimal supervision, oversees EAH Corporate financial operations, including Treasury management, Accounts Payable, Corporate financials, and the Corporate budget process. Ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Understands and supports EAH Housing mission and core values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GAAS for internal and external stakeholders ensuring that all corporate financials are reflected and reported accurately and timely.

Leads the consolidated and stand-alone financial audits and tax returns for EAH entities (LLC and Corporations), and subsidiaries with auditors and tax preparers.

Manages the Corporate budget process, working closely with department heads to develop, monitor and analyze budgetary performance.

Provides financial analysis and guidance on business decisions, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Oversees all aspects of Treasury management including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.

Manages Accounts Payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and reporting, including tax filings and audits.

Develops and implements internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Collaborates with senior management and department heads to support strategic initiatives and organizational goals.

Supervises and mentors a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development.

Oversees payroll process with HR to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations.

Identifies areas of improvement in the accounting process, makes appropriate recommendations, and executes recommendations.

Develops and implements strategies to improve financial operations’ overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Researches technical accounting issues for compliance.

Guides complex transactions, including review of contracts before execution.

Assists in evaluating the financial impact of business initiatives and investments and contributes to long-term financial planning and growth strategies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises Accounting staff. Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounting staff; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations; provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance; ensures department performance appraisals are completed effectively and as scheduled.

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. 6 - 8 years as a Controller or in a financial leadership or management role. 5 years related experience in a non-profit affordable housing environment (HUD and Tax Credit accounting). CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. Once you have received such an offer, you will be required to submit and pass our criminal background requirements. EAH also verifies education and employment history. DRUG TESTING

EAH Housing requires all candidates who have received a conditional job offer to submit to drug testing within 72 hours from acceptance of our job offer. EAH Housing does not test for marijuana/cannabis. Satisfactory completion of drug testing is a requirement of employment with EAH.
