Director of Evangelization and CommunicationsJob Overview:The Director of Evangelization and Communications promotes and spreads the Catholic faith at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. He/she evangelizes through teaching the faith to all ages and backgrounds. He/she is responsible for communicating parish events to all parishioners via print and digital media. He/she reports to the Pastor for direction and guidance in these efforts.Hours:• Full-time• Some evening work hours, occasional weekend hours• Must be present Friday 6:30-8PM for “Elevate” young adult group• Flexible daytime hours available• Some remote work possibleResponsibilities and Duties:Evangelization

Bilingual Young Adult Group Leader (Elevate)

Provide content for weekly Friday meetings with young adults, leading prayer, giving talks, running icebreaker games, directing small group discussions.Help create yearly plan of prayer meetings, catechesis, service projects, and social events.Coordinate and collaborate with Pastor as well as parish priests in the administration of the group.

Religious Education Support

Assist in volunteer catechist formation, including offering a faith formation talk 2-3 times per year.Support religious education parent catechesis program, coordinating volunteer support and offering occasional talks at these events.Aid RCIA director with translation services for one-on-one meetings and help teach weekly classes as needed.

Safe Environment Director

Order background checks on employees and volunteers and verify accuracy of results.Send notices to users that need safe environment training.Manage active user profiles and archive inactive profiles.Assist parish volunteers with any questions and ensure all parish volunteers who work with children have “Approved” certification status.

Other Evangelization Areas

Recommend potential evangelization opportunities in Spanish and English.

Communications

Website - Parish, School, Cemetery

Update content, including feast days, parish events, and special announcements.Perform routine maintenance/troubleshooting as needed.Coordinate with heads of departments for necessary updates.

Social Media Presence

Develop a social media presence to advertise parish events and promote Diocesan events.Post links to orthodox Catholic content.

Physical Signage

Redevelop and maintain Vincent Hall Lobby area.Update flyers, pamphlets, and signs.Clean out clutter that appears in lobby and receive/publish content from various departments.Create posters for key parish events in coordination with the Pastor.Assist parish ministries in creating signs for their events.

Qualifications:• Practicing Catholic, fluent in Spanish and English• Thorough understanding of the Catholic faith• Ability and readiness to teach others about the faith• Professional demeanor with ability to respect confidentiality• Self-motivated, patient, team-player, and desire to serve others• Computer skills: competent with graphic design and printing, ability to make posters and flyers• Knowledgeable and proficient with a variety of social media platforms• Familiarity with Google Suite and ability to navigate ParishSoft• Basic office skills, including use of copy machine and document management• Education level: Graduate degree in theology preferredPhysical Demands:• Able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of materials• Must have focus and concentration to work on assignments• Sufficient vocal strength to teach and command the attention of a classroom• Able to stand while teaching a catechesis session (30-60 minutes)Apply at diocesefwsb.org/careers.
