Nationwide, KIPP students complete four-year college at a rate of 36 percent, comparable to the national average for all students and approximately three times higher than the average of students from low-income communities.ROLE OVERVIEW:This person will lead the vision, direction, and day-to-day operations of the Regional Boards. Responsibilities include executing the vision for the Regional Board meetings, onboarding, and recruitment. Additionally, this individual will build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders such as Board Chairs, Chief of Staff team, Office of CEO, Development, Community Partnerships, and other departments. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Advancement, the individual will plan, strategize, and lead the work with Regional Boards, including Board Meetings, Regional Board Member recruitment, and onboarding.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:The Director of Regional Boards will:Execute the strategy and vision for Regional Board Meetingsa. Work with the Managing Director of Development & Regional Boards and the Deputy Chief of Advancement to create and execute on the long and short-term strategy for Regional Boardsb. Work with the team to execute against strategy and meet annual goalsc. Engage members of the various KIPP Texas departments to gather the appropriate information for the pre-read deck, live deck, and memo for the Regional Boardsd. Motivate and inspire non-direct reports to enable an excellent pre-read and post follow-up materialsLead the strategy and execution of onboarding new Regional Board of Directorsa. Create a road map that all Regional Boards will follow to properly onboard new Regional Board Membersb. Ensure that all Board Chairs are aligned with the onboarding planc. Collaborate with Board Chairs, Managing Director of Development & Regional Boards, Deputy Chief of Advancement, and any other key and relevant stakeholders to ensure stakeholder buy-in for the onboarding processd. Plan a welcome new Board Member dinnerLead the strategy and execution of recruiting new Regional Board of Directorsa. Create a road map that all Regional Boards will follow to recruit new Regional Board Membersb. Update the Board Matrix for each Regional Board to identify the need for every regionc. Collaborate with Deputy Chief of Advancement, Board Chairs, and Directors of Development to identify Board Member prospects in each regiond. Ensure all Board Member prospects are following the recruitment process and there isn’t a gap in following through from KIPP’s end to move to the next phaseEnsure that all the logistics are taken care of for all Regional Board Meetingsa. Collaborate with Regional Superintendents’ Executive Assistants to ensure all Regional Board Meetings have the materials needed to host the meetingb. Secure a meeting location, food, and technology needs for the meetingc. Ensure all facilitators have what they need to attend and present at the Board Meetingd. Ensure all internal and external stakeholders have the information they need to successfully execute each Board MeetingBuild and maintain internal KIPP relationships with schools, Inc. staff, and other externally-facing functionsa. Develop an understanding of each KIPP school’s culture and personality to connect donors’ interest and community partnerships to specific school initiatives and school programsb. Meet regularly with school leaders and stay informed about the financial and community needs of each KIPP Texas school to guide the direction of fundraising and partnershipsc. Balance the needs of general operating support, capital campaign funding, and above-and-beyond projects to assist KIPP schools in their specific effortsQualifications

Education and Knowledge:● Bachelor’s degree● 5+ years of delivering results● Experience as a skilled leader and building relationships● Track record of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders● Knowledge of Texas Education Agency charter laws and reporting is helpful, but not requiredSkills:● Unquestioned integrity and commitment to KIPP Texas’ mission and values.● Sensitivity and predisposition to the needs, beliefs, and experiences of the communities in which we serve.
