Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. (ARTI) is currently recruiting for a
Personnel Security Specialist
in support of a contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The position is full-time, exempt. Start date is immediate, based on award of DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD).SUMMARYThe Personnel Security Specialist will provide extensive support functions and personnel security adjudication services for federal applicants and contractors under 5 Code Federal Regulations 731. They must understand and be acquainted with the complete Suitability/Fitness and Security Vetting Process and perform a range of duties.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust be able to fully understand all the various personnel security background investigations and the scope of each type of investigation for Public Trust and National Security positions.Conduct suitability adjudication related training as necessary for any changing regulations or mandates in handling of designated position risk and adjudicating suitability or contractor fitness.Reviews, evaluates, and adjudicates reports of investigation, personnel files, and other records to assist HQS PSD in determining whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend or restrict security clearances consistent with personnel security issues.Research personnel security information using advanced technology as applicable, such as OPM NP2 Portal, Personnel Investigation Processing Systems (PIPS), Clearance Verification System (CVS), and DHS Information Security Management System (ISMS).Analyze data, and apply law, regulations, policy, and procedures commensurate with established requirements and with fair concern for equality and detail.Coordinate with staff and persons internal and external to the agency to carry out security activities in support of the personnel security program.Work with SEAD 3 – DHS Security Reporting Portal and Continuous Evaluation (CE) programs.REQUIREMENTSAssociates Degree and 8 years Security experience, 3 in Personnel Security.Must have the ability to demonstrate and apply highly technical knowledge in solving complex problems and apply law, regulation, policy, and procedures to personnel security program.Must be organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.Good verbal communication skills required, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and handle pressure situations is a must.Must have strong organizational and attention to detail skills.Mandatory Requirement:
