We are Motive, a website platform for franchise auto dealerships.We are seeking a skilled Frontend Engineer with a strong focus on creating accessible, performant, and semantically correct web applications. This role requires a deep understanding of modern web technologies and best practices, with a particular emphasis on Next.js and React. This role should be particularly excited to those who like to work on different things and solve wide-ranging frontend problems.About Motive:

Work on our dealer-facing website builder
Work directly with manufacturers and large enterprises on exciting initiatives
Have direct and meaningful impact on the product
Design & implement complex UI components with a focus on semantic HTML and accessibility
Optimize frontend performance and implement efficient rendering techniques
Set up and maintain frontend testing infrastructure
Work on AI-powered features and integrate them into the user interface
We are looking for someone who has/is:An intuition for good design, layout, and information hierarchy
A UX-first approach to development
Skilled in the
front-of-the-front and back-of-the-front
development
2-5 years of React experience
1+ years of experience working with Next.js in a production capacity, bonus points if you are versed in both Pages and App router
Small startup experience (1-20 engineers)
Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with great follow-through on initiatives big and small
Deep knowledge of web semantic HTML and best practices
Strong understanding of web accessibility standards, an accessibility-first mindset
Proficiency in frontend testing methodologies and tools
Familiarity with backend development concepts (Ruby experience is a plus)
Experience working with generative AI models in a professional capacity (desirable)
Compensation:
$115,000 to $150,000 in salary.This pay scale is inclusive of various prerequisites and levels of proficiency, and will be further narrowed throughout the interview process.
Your compensation will additionally include meaningful stock option compensation.
Motive contributes 100% of the cost of employees' health, dental, and vision insurance premiums. For employees’ dependents, Motive covers 50% of their insurance premiums.
We also offer unlimited time off.
