Job DescriptionThe Risk Consultant works closely with our clients, insurance company representatives, producers, and the Commercial Operations department, assisting with claim and risk control needs to reduce the cost of risk for our clientele.The Risk Consultant works in the office and travels to customer locations to provide service and serves as a mentor to the Claim Advocates in the office for daily procedural and insurance claim and risk control related questions.The Risk Consultant meets or exceeds the agency service standards of time and quality while setting an exemplary example of professionalism.Primary Duties

Works with clients, insurance company representatives, Producers, Commercial Operations, and the Manager of Client Services to establish claim and risk control service plans for commercial clientele.Acts as a resource and mentor to Claim Advocates for coverage review and claim handling.Provides claim advocacy for large and/or complex claims that include setting expectations for clients at the time of loss, on-site claim consultation at the loss location as needed, claim consulting, reporting, and tracking the claim to closure.Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the annual strategic service report to commercial clientele.Schedules field claim reviews and/or risk control visits coordinating with the client, the insurance company representatives, and the Producer as appropriate.Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce the cost of risk for our commercial clientele.Prepares and delivers claim trending and analysis reports to identify causes of loss for assigned clients.Prepares and delivers client seminars covering property casualty claims, safety compliance, and risk control topics.Delivers risk control consulting services to commercial clientele.Assists Producers with new business opportunities including responses to requests for proposals and delivery of capabilities presentations to prospects, associations, and/or current clientele.Overnight domestic travel is required to service customers, participate in new business sales calls, and attend educational workshops.Available to respond to claim emergencies outside normal business hours: holidays, weekends, evenings.Assists the client with written follow-up to loss control recommendations issued by the insurance companies.Experience and Skills

Years of Experience:4-6Education:Bachelor's Degree; or combined equivalent years of education and experienceLicense, Certification, or Registration:P&C License is preferredAdditional Information:Professional designations such as CIC, ACLM, CRM, ARM or CSP desired.Ability to carry out complex tasks with concrete and/or abstract variables.Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues and receive and interpret complex information.Ability to maintain a positive attitude, express enthusiasm, and be flexible.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
