SummaryThe Mechanical Engineer II (Logistics) role is a professional level position responsible for supporting shipping components in a safe and secure manner based on drawing requirements and regulations. These functions include research, design, and developing work instructions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees product packaging process and activities.Prepares written work instructions for packaging operations based on drawing specifications.Ensures compliance with US Department of Transportation and international regulations for the shipment of hazardous materials.Designs and fabricates packaging for a variety of products.Interacts with design agencies, suppliers, and internal departments to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues.Requires certification training in the shipment of hazardous materials per 49CFR/IATA.Supports continuous improvement projects and capacity forecasting.You Must HaveBachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and determined by the needs of the business.United States Citizenship.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.We ValueExperience in packaging techniques and procedures.Experience in 49 CFR/IATA.Look for opportunities to document improvements/innovations in approved and related processes.Additional InformationJOB ID:
