Perform all x-ray procedures and complete all paperwork required for each patient.QUALIFICATIONS:

Varied, including weekends.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree required. Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required, plus twelve months experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Current CRT and preferred ARRT and American Heart Association BLS certification required. For fluoroscopy departments, a current California State License Fluoroscopy is also required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assist patients in preparation for x-ray procedures.Take and develop x-rays using correct positioning, shielding, equipment, and procedures.Process exposed film, critique film, ensure that films are promptly and correctly supplied to the radiologist to be read. Maintain the film library and file films as needed.Complete all paperwork including charge slips, logs, etc.Appropriately notify nurse or physician of abnormalities in x-ray reports.Perform clerical procedures associated with radiology as needed and directed, including the scheduling of appointments, ordering supplies, etc.Ensure equipment is functioning properly; notify supervisor of any potential malfunctions.Ensure that films are released to the requesting facilities supplying properly completed release forms.Recognize patient's privacy and safeguard those rights.Assist physicians in performance of examinations by mixing and pouring contrast media, administering opaque media, holding and turning patients, assisting in sterile procedures, and other related duties. Assist in performing first aid as necessary.Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination-free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel.Secure and return supplies.
