Senior Data Scientist
at MN Custom Homes, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, driving innovation and growth through meticulous data analysis. This role demands a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in data mining and cleaning. You will be essential in communicating complex data findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your expertise will support a range of departments, including Construction, Architecture, Interior Design, and Sales, making your contributions critical to our diverse operations.On a Given Day, Your Work Might IncludeAnalyze data for meaningful trends, patterns, and insights to deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.Develop and implement statistical models to predict future trends, customer behavior, and other business metrics.Evaluate internal systems to identify inefficiencies and inaccuracies, and develop protocols for efficient data handling, processing, and cleaning to optimize our data infrastructure.With minimal guidance, transform vague requests into well-defined outcomes, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and creating detailed project plans with defined milestones.Create, automate, and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources.Identify, develop, and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources.Execute analytical experiments to help solve business problems unique to MN Custom Homes.Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including owners, managers, subcontractors, designers, team members, and employees.Excellent with data mining, mathematics, statistical analysis, testing, and visualization.Excellent in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking, the ability to explain complex findings to a diverse audience.Demonstrates ability to be an effective relationship builder and flex style for a vast array of stakeholders including C-suite.Strong with Excel, PowerBI, SQL, and programming languages (ex: Java/Python, SAS).Strong organization and time management skills.Strong growth mindset; independently seeks out continuous improvement and development opportunities.Strong sense of curiosity and analytical thinking, enabling you to delve deep into the data and explore paths to uncover solutions to unanticipated questions.Ability to address multiple demands and adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, simultaneous demands, or transitions into new assignments.Ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert and develop trust and rapport with key stakeholders.Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.Ability to work independently with little direction or oversight.Ability to adopt MN processes and standards operating procedures.What You’ll Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent, preferably in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics.7 to 12 years of experience in data analytics or data science.Experience programming in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.Experience using a Business Intelligence tool such as PowerBI.Experience working with large datasets in the cloud.Employee Benefits100% covered employee premiums for medical and dental self-coverage.100% employer-paid life insurance.100% employer-paid long-term disability insurance.Paid medical and family leave.Critical illness insurance.401(K) with generous company match, no vesting schedule, and access to professional financial advisors.20 days of PTO & 9 holidays.New iPhone for your personal and business use.Free onsite parking.Company paid events.Complimentary snacks & beverages.Hybrid work schedule option combining remote work-from-home with regular weekly in-office workdays available, subject to change as determined by business need.Hours & CompensationThis is a full-time position paying $128,000 - $204,000 + discretionary bonuses.
