laci.org .Position Summary:The Junior Accountant at LACI will play an essential role in the financial management of the organization. This role will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of our accounts payable function and provide assistance with payroll processing, in accordance with GAAP, the Uniform Guidance and all requirements applicable to 501(c)(3) organizations. Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, this role will also support the accounts receivable function, maintain the department record keeping system, and assist with additional departmental projects and research.What You’ll Do:A/P Processing:

New vendor setup in QuickBooks; Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to processing; Code invoices; Prepare A/P aging reports; Package and distribute checks; Reconcile vendor statements; Corporate credit card management.A/R Processing:

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review; Processing deposits from multiple sources; Code incoming funding; Prepare A/R Aging Reports.Vendor Communication & Invoicing:

Manage AP automation software; Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies, outstanding invoices, and Form W-9’s; Compile vendor and subcontractor invoices and other documentation in preparation for grant/contract billings.Payroll Support:

Review employee timesheets; Follow up with employees; Prepare bi-weekly timesheet summaries for payroll processing; Generate monthly physical timesheets.Audit & 1099 Prep:

Assist with financial audit preparation; Assist with annual Form 1099 preparation.Why You’re Right for the Job:You’re super organized.

This means you have:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business complete or near completion.Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience working in accounting.Experience using QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.A genuine interest in LACI’s mission, and you embody our values of innovation, collaboration, integrity and impact.Flexible, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and within a team.Ability to maintain discretion when handling sensitive financial information.Not-for-profit accounting experience strongly preferred.Work Requirements:Must work onsite from Downtown LA office (currently hybrid).Position Details:This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.Salary Range:

Coordinator Range $54-60k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.In addition to working on a campus with other innovators, we offer industry competitive benefits including: paid holidays, vacation/sick time, health benefits, 401(k) plan with match, and paid parking (with EV charge stations).
