This role offers a dynamic and supportive work environment with a comprehensive benefits package.Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications for medical devices, mechanical technologies, and essential electrical technologies.Manage patent portfolios, including preparing responses to office actions, appeals, and other communications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Conduct legal research and analysis to support patent prosecution and strategy.Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide legal advice on intellectual property matters.Assist in patent due diligence, including preparing opinions on patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement.Prepare and review patent-related documentation, including claims, specifications, and drawings.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal and technical developments in intellectual property and life sciences.Participate in client meetings, technology transfer activities, and strategic discussions related to intellectual property.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar and USPTO Patent Bar membership.2-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting.Strong background in one of the following fields: cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or digital health-focused disciplines, or biomedical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemical compositions, and software is preferred.Education:JD degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the State Bar.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Proficiency in patent prosecution and intellectual property law.Familiarity with legal and technical aspects of life sciences and chemistry-related technologies.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
