A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Tax Credit Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising the operations of the R&D Tax Credit group, including research, data analysis, client intake, project management, and tax return review. This role requires a command of Excel and Alteryx, excellent client relationship management, and in-depth knowledge of R&D tax credit laws and practices.Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the operations of the R&D Tax Credit group, including:

Research and data analysisClient intake and project managementTax return review (including client tax returns, GL data, and other financial and accounting inputs)Financial reportsClient interfacing

Manage R&D tax credit studies and related activities, including:

Client interviewsAnalyzing client dataDeveloping client and industry-specific tools and templatesPreparing technical reports

Assist with the delivery of engagements, including research and writing on technical and compliance issuesManage and implement multiple projects simultaneously, including:

Client consultationsData gathering and analysisCoordination of Specialty Tax & Incentives personnel and client resources (Tax, Engineering, IT, HR)

Provide R&D tax credit services to clients, including:

Tax credit calculationsRefund claim preparationsIRS audit defense and related advisory services

Stay updated with current R&D tax credit industry practices and changes in tax law, IRS administrative procedures, and case law developmentDevelop and maintain excellent client relationshipsProvide R&D tax credit legal, procedural, and computational advice to clientsRequirements

Juris Doctor DegreeUndergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferredCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or law license preferred5+ years (10+ years preferred) of prior working experience with R&D tax credits at an accounting firm, corporation, or law firmKnowledge of Internal Revenue Code §§ 41 and 174, corresponding Treasury Regulations, and relevant judicial and administrative authorityAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and preferably some Alteryx (or similar program) experienceKnowledge and experience with statistical sampling preferredSkills
