Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities:Produce quality, tested codeAdvocate for coding standards and best practicesTroubleshoot and debug large-scale systems for a user base of 180,000+Validate designs by building performance and load-testing toolsMeasure, optimize, and redesign legacy monolith production systemsWork cross-functionally to design services and APIs that enable feature work across our engineering organizationParticipate in daily code reviewsLead technical planning activities and document architectural technical decisionsProvide mentorship and instruction to other engineers on the teamOccasional domestic travel (3-4 times per year) for work meetings and other special company eventsRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a closely related field6 years of professional software engineering experienceExperience in backend programming languages such as PHP, Python, C# or JavaScripting programming languages such as Javascript, JQuery, React, or TypeScriptLeadership experience with a demonstrated history of leading cross-functional projects from concept to completionElevating team performance, enhancing team development practices, and championing operational efficiency improvementsFormulating test strategies, composing automated test suites, or implementing automated testing frameworksSubject matter expertise working in large-scale, distributed systemsWorking in an Agile development methodologyProviding 24x7 support as a service owner in the team’s rotational, weeklong on-call rotationExperience with relational databases such as MySQL, MS SQL or PostgresExperience delivering highly scalable, containerized services hosted in AWS or KubernetesExperience implementing CI/CD and managing infrastructure as codeEnterprise integration patterns and asynchronous communicationUnderstanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts and principlesMeasuring, optimizing, and re-architecting production systemsBuilding solutions using modern secure development techniques such as Oauth 2.0 or MTLSDeveloping data storage solutions that maintain GDPR complianceAbout ActiveCampaign:ActiveCampaign helps small teams power big businesses with the must-have platform for intelligent marketing automation.
