If so, then becoming a young adult mentor is a rewarding opportunity for you!StudentNest Inc. is looking to hire Mentor(s) in the San Francisco area.Schedule: Weekdays and/or weekendsafternoon and evening10-20 hours per weekRate of Pay: $22.00-27.00 based on experienceSummary:Youth/Young Adult Mentors act as supportive guides for young people (typically ages for youth, 13-16 and for young adults, 17-24) as they transition into adulthood. Mentors build trusting relationships with their mentees, offering encouragement, guidance, and a safe space to explore dreams and navigate challenges. Through mentorship, young adults gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed in college, career, and personal life.Responsibilities:Develop a positive and trusting relationship with your assigned youth/young adult menteeBe a supportive role model and source of encouragementAssist your mentee in identifying and achieving personal and professional goalsHelp your mentee develop important life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial literacyOffer guidance on navigating college applications, career exploration, or independent living (as needed)Participate in fun and engaging activities that align with your mentee's interestsMaintain open communication with program staff and mentee's guardians (when applicable)Attend mentor training workshops (as required)Qualifications:Passion for working with youth/young adultsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build trust and rapport with young peoplePatience, empathy, and a positive attitudeStrong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by youth/young adultsExperience in a relevant field (e.g., education, career counseling) (preferred)Commitment to confidentialityReliable transportation (may be required)Benefits:Make a positive impact on a youth/young adult's lifeGain valuable experience and skills in mentoringBecome a role model and inspire othersPersonal fulfillment and satisfactionStay connected with current issues and experiences of young adultsIf you are interested in becoming a youth/young adult mentor, please contact StudentNest today!
