Responsibilities

The Pride Institute first opened in 1986 and has since gone on to be a leading provider of residential and outpatient substance use and addiction treatment centers for the LGBTQ+ community. PrideStaff support the personal growth, resiliency and overall wellness of our clients during their recovery program with us. Our clients don’t deal with their addiction and mental health issues in a vacuum; instead, these disorders are addressed within the context of the whole person. As a result, recovery doesn’t just mean living substance-free, it means living more integrated and expressive lives.Our Pride Staff have diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors

are an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team focusing on client-centered care within MN 245G statutes and CARF standards. They provide ongoing assessments, treatment planning, progress reviews, continuing care planning, and individual/group counseling sessions involving recovery education.We are currently looking for a compassionate and committed Primary Counselor who desires to be part of a team of dedicated and like-minded human beings doing the hard work they

want and need

to be doing. Qualified candidates will have an active, unrestricted license (LADC) awarded by the MN BBHT; have 1-2 years’ experience in the chemical dependency field and 12 contact hours of co-occurring disorders training; and have insight regarding the unique challenges faced by our clients. They must be able to pass/clear the MN DHS Background Study and must be free of problematic substance use for at least the two years immediately preceding their hiring.
