A Little About UsThe Yahoo Analytics, Research & Data Organization (YARD) is the strategic and tactical partner to all Yahoo decision-makers through pre-, mid- and post- decision stages. Within YARD is the Consumer Analytics team, which is the core audience analytics function helping Yahoo’s GM organizations explore and understand the impact of user behavior on business performance. Made up of data science, business intelligence, marketing, content and product analytics experts, this team leverages 1st and 3rd party data to provide deep analysis and actionable insights that inform consumer-first strategies and product/business decisions.

A Lot About YouThe YARD team is looking for a versatile data enthusiast with excellent business sense, outstanding analytical skills, a proven ability to communicate analytical findings, and rich experience in leveraging various data sets. We are responsible for providing fast, clean, and relevant data for key measurements and insights about the users of Yahoo.

This individual contributor role will report to the Director of Business Intelligence (Yahoo Finance Analytics) and will work with teams across the organization including Editorial/Content, Product, Business Development, Strategy & Ops and FP&A. This person will be working directly with stakeholders and cross functional teams to deliver reports and actionable insights, while driving data-led decisions that inform strategy.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Analyze performance (web, mobile, OTT) across Yahoo Finance to understand user trends, behavior and competitive landscapeAct as the Business Intelligence lead for multiple projects in a fast paced work environmentSupport the Yahoo Finance Analytics team with weekly, monthly & quarterly performance reportsPresent and communicate performance results and findings to various stakeholders at all levelsSupport ad hoc requests coming from leadership and other key stakeholders within the companyMonitor data quality issues, partnering with other teams to surface gaps and inconsistenciesLeverage third-party data sources such as Comscore, Similarweb, data.ai, and Shareablee for competitive and market analysis

Basic Requirements (Must Have):

Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) and experience in digital analytics and insights delivery3+ years of experience generating actionable insights that aid data-driven decisions in building great products with great user experience.Expert knowledge of SQL is requiredExperience using analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google AnalyticsProficient in data visualization tools such as Google Studio, Tableau, Domo, Looker or similar tools is a mustExperience conducting analyses across Content and/or Product teamsStrong analytical skills and quantitative mindset with an understanding of basic statisticsProven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data setsStrong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholdersThe ability to work across multiple disciplines with both data and non-data focused people alikeAbility and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can sometimes be tight and stakeholder’s needs are immediateA hands-on attitude. Someone who is not afraid to dig into technical/instrumentation issues and won’t be stopped until they find the right solutionSelf-motivated and results-drivenMedia industry experience is a must

Master's Degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, Mathematics, or FinanceProficient in programming languages such as Python or RExtensive experience collaborating with product teamsExperience in report automationExperience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) or AWSExperience collaborating with Data Scientists and UX Research/Design teamExperience with video analytics and video distributionExperience or strong interest in the stock market and business news

The compensation for this position ranges from $84,750.00 - $176,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
