Job Summary:The Lead Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for identifying and communicating any defects on product. This position involves conducting various sampling and measurement tests to ensure the product is meeting customer specifications consistently. They will be aware of and report on Quality findings in their shift. They will coordinate the QA Techs and temporary staff in Quality to optimize support of production. Supporting production includes aligning QA Techs to react to production plans, resources and anomalies. This position will report to the Quality Inspection Systems Supervisor.

Job Duties:

Audit in-process production to verify machine set ups, targets, drawings and specification conformance.

Perform incoming material inspections and verifications as required.

Conduct product sampling and testing to ensure cans are within customer specifications and consistent production is being met.

Perform testing such as metal exposure testing, coating adhesion and abrasion resistance, burst and buckle performance and overflow capacity and particulate identification and measurement. Inspecting graphics including barcodes and text.

Input product and process data into the manufacturing efficiency system (MES).

Perform finished goods inspection.

Coordinate and oversee the on shift sorting operation/process.

Conduct routine in-process inspections for each department.

Direct and assist temporary Quality employees.

Lead and train temporary staff members; including but not limited to safety and GFSI orientation.

Review temporary worker schedules and reported hours on shift.

Report weekly roster of temporary workers to the Quality Inspection Systems Supervisor.

Report all potential food safety concerns to the Quality Inspection Systems Supervisor.

Document shift notes to communicate with supervisor.

Communicate and enforce Trivium Packaging's policies and procedures.

Maintain standards of product contamination procedures.

Ensure sorting area is cleaned and organized.

Safely and efficiently coordinate material for sorting with logistics team.

Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.

Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Previous ISO/GMP and in process testing experience.

Excellent color detection skills and attention to detail.

Measuring skills using calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Ability to problem solve and lead a team.

Must be a team player and possess a 'can do' attitude.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.

Work Environment:This position performs job duties located on the shop floor. This position walks through the manufacturing floor where machinery produces loud noises. In addition, this position will use quality assurance equipment, telephones/walkie-talkies to perform job duties.
