Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Critical Care Float Pool RN is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care across various critical care settings, with experience in 2 or more Critical Care Specialties (ICU, Emergency Department - ED, and/or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit - PACU). The RN will float between these units as needed, ensuring seamless patient care and support to the nursing teams. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable individual who can handle a variety of clinical situations with expertise and compassion.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in ICU, ED, and/or PACU settings, adhering to best practices and hospital protocols.Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.Educate patients and their families about health conditions, post-treatment care, and discharge planning.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff as needed.Main BenefitsChallenging and rewarding work environmentGrowth and Development Opportunities within UHS and its SubsidiariesCompetitive CompensationExcellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plan401k plan with company match

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in DC.BSN or completion of BSN within 5 years.Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ED, PACU).ACLS and BLS certifications required.CCRN, CEN, or CPAN certification preferred.Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations.Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
