Japanese Court Interpreter
to provide accurate and reliable interpretation services in legal settings for a contracted position. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of legal terminology, exceptional language proficiency in both Japanese and English, and the ability to maintain impartiality and confidentiality.Principal Duties & Required Skills
Provide consecutive interpretation from Japanese to English and vice versa during court proceedings, including trials, hearings, depositions, and client-attorney meetings.Interpret spoken and written communications accurately, ensuring the message is conveyed clearly and without alteration.Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen.Minimum of 5years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in a legal or court setting.Proven track record of accurate and reliable interpretation and translation services.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from a recognized interpreting and translating body (e.g., NAJIT, ATA, or equivalent).Experience in law enforcement/legal environment.Experience providing interpretation in potentially adversarial situations.Work Environment
