is working with a power generation facility with an urgent need for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for management of overall Operations and Maintenance in accordance with all applicable regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, NERC, NHDES, etc.). The Plant Manager is also responsible for safely, efficiently, and economically operating and maintaining the facility in accordance with the approved budget, OEM, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

Staff, train, and direct operations, maintenance and staff plant personnel to ensure that the entire plant is within corporate goals of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

Maximize plant efficiency and capacity to meet or exceed plant design parameters.

Formulate and manage financial forecasting in accordance with budgetary and capital expense constraints.

Direct Manager(s) in the performance of plant outages, capital projects, and daily operation. Manage and monitor the performance of all plant outages, both planned and unplanned; ensure that outage reports are properly reported on a timely basis.

Administer the plant’s Safety, Operations, NERC Compliance, Maintenance, Administrative, Training, Chemistry, and Environmental QA/QC programs to assure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the plant.

Ensure the plant is operated and maintained in compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulatory standards and requirements including performing self-certifications and audits.

Create and support an organizational culture that encourages and rewards employee involvement, innovative thinking, adaptation to change, responsible risk-taking, and continuous improvement.

Conduct periodic reviews of plant policies and procedures to ensure that they reflect current plant operating requirements.

Provide leadership through workforce planning, succession planning, and training opportunities.

Work under limited to no supervision; independently prioritize and execute responsibilities.

Oversee inventory management and procurement activities, including fuel procurement.

Devise and implement profit improvement projects.

Provide technical support to corporate business development and other plants as needed.

Maintain a good working relationship with customers, suppliers, and the community.

Ensure all Plant Operating and Maintenance Procedures and the Computer Maintenance Management Systems are routinely reviewed to verify they are up to date and valid.

Manage the preparation of all required reports, including but not limited to Budget, Performance, Environment, OSHA, and NERC Compliance.

Ensure all personnel are current on Standing Orders which are specific actions taken for certain pre-identified events or situations.

Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical discipline.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the power generation field or exceptional work or military experience in a related technical field may substitute for the degree.

Experience with bubbling fluidized bed and/or biomass power generation preferred.

Previous supervisory experience (i.e. Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, O&M Manager, O&M Supervisor) is required.

Experience with New England energy markets is preferred.
